Power In What We Say: Daily Affirmations

I just recently came to understand how much power there is in the things we say! We literally have the power of life and death in our tongues (Proverbs 18:21, New King James Version). We can speak GOOD things and they will come to pass; or we speak can BAD things and they will come to pass. Just think about it-God spoke the whole world into existence! Chapter 1 of Genesis (NKJV) tells how God simply spoke a word and created the earth and all that is within-He said let there be light and there was light! Simple as that!

God has created us in His image (Genesis 1:27, NKJV). This means that He created us to be like Him; so therefore we must have the same power to speak things into existence just as He does! If we speak good things and believe by faith that these things will come to pass, good things will surely happen.

This is exactly why I started a list of daily affirmations. An affirmation is nothing but a verbal statement of what you believe in! It’s important to make affirmations that line up with the Word of God because you already know that God’s Word is true. If God said it, you can be confident in repeating it because it will surely come to pass. Below are a few affirmations that I developed from Bible scriptures.

  • In Christ I am a new creature; I have done away with the old things-all things are new in my life! (2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV)
  • The Lord is with me and He sees me. I will not fear today! (Psalm 23/Psalm 34:15, NKJV)
  • The Lord will provide for me exceedingly, abundantly, above all I ask or think! (Ephesians 3:20, NKJV)
  • I can do anything God has called me to do, through Christ who strengthens me! (Philippians 4:13, NKJV)
  • God has predestined me, called me, justified me, and He will glorify me! (Romans 8:30)

There are so many wonderful Bible scriptures that you can make daily affirmations with! I encourage you to dig into the Word of God and find some scriptures that really stand out and speak to you! Take those scriptures, make affirmations with them, and say them every morning when you wake up. Tape them to your bathroom mirror, put them on your refrigerator, or lay them on your bedside table-Do whatever you have to do! And remember, when you speak your affirmations, believe by FAITH and with all of your heart that good things will come to pass! In everything we do and say, we must believe and have faith because without faith we can NOT please God! (Hebrews 11:6, NKJV)

As always I pray you have been blessed by these words. Like/Comment/Follow/Share!

  1. The Scripture says, by our words we are saved, by our words we are condemned.

The Scripture also said, what we speak are life and they are spirit.

It means, when you speak right or wrong things, in the realm of the spirit it comes alive waiting for manifestation.

We need to pray to cancel every negative word we have spoken that is working against us.

Thanks for this lovely post. God bless you mightily.
