Favorite Scriptures: Everybody Needs a Few

I have several favorite scriptures, scriptures that just really speak to me! These are scriptures that are written on my heart, scriptures I can recite without even looking at the Bible! Everybody needs a bundle of favorite scriptures they can quickly think on when in trouble or in need of encouragement. Below are a couple of my favorites:

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18, New King James Version). In any situation, whether bad or good, this scripture lets me know exactly what I should be doing!

“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry” (Psalm 34:15, NKJV). This scripture lets me know that no matter how bad my situation may be, no matter how lost I may feel, I am never lost to God! He sees me at ALL times and He hears my humble cry!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23, NKJV). This scripture lets me know that if I walk in the fruit of the Spirit, it won’t be so hard to live for God because everything of the Spirit is GOOD.

I encourage you to find a few short scriptures that you can easily remember. Scriptures that you can quickly speak over your life and mediate upon in the time of trouble! If you don’t know where to start, the book of Psalm has a lot of comforting scriptures! As always I pray these words have blessed.
