Can I be completely real with you for a minute? As mature as I am in the Lord and as beautifully as I write these messages to you each morning, I’m still not perfect! I figured you knew that already but I just had to say it. Here recently I had been dealing with this issue that stirred up a lot of UGLY emotions within me. I’m telling you, this thing really had me worked up and it was NEGATIVITY at its finest! So in the midst of me praising God and seeking Him for a solution, I kept feeling in my spirit the need to do what I always do, which is DELIBERATELY search for the GOOD in the issue at hand. And I tell you, I learned such a beautiful life lesson by doing so; and God not only gave me a solution but He gave me something else that I wasn’t even seeking Him for!
You see, I’ve come to a point where I see the good in EVERY situation. The awful, ugly, dark situation that presents itself; I all of a sudden see the light in it as if I were looking through some magical pair of glasses. Now this is getting deep, so keep following me. James 1:2-3 (New King James Version) says, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” Then verse 4 goes on to say that with patience working through us we will become COMPLETE.
In essence, this is saying EVERY trial or negative experience that presents itself is an opportunity for you to exercise your faith by showing God that even in the midst of darkness you will continue to be the light and do what’s right. Continuing to exercise your faith in trying times builds your patience; and pretty soon you will be complete, able to survive in even the worst of situations.
Romans 8:28 (NKJV) says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Now if this is true, and I believe it is, this means that EVERY bad situation is an opportunity for you to grow, learn a new life lesson, and become stronger in the Lord! A bad relationship that hurt you deeply, a coworker who is extremely difficult to get along with, a financial or health problem that just won’t seem to go away; ALL opportunities to grow! These are opportunities to build your patience and learn to handle things in a different or better way. And I tell you, after you have endured you will be STRONGER and COMPLETE in the Lord!
Say this short prayer:
Lord, help me to search for the good in all situations, knowing that all things work together for my good. Help me to increase my patience and become more solid in my faith. Let not one trial be in vain, but let a good thing flourish from each trial I endure. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen!
As always I pray these words have blessed. Like/Comment/Follow/Share
