Have you ever felt BURDENSOME going to God over and over for forgiveness? Have you ever sought God for just a little more of His power or an answer to a dilemma, only to feel like perhaps you were bothering Him too much? Let me tell you-if you have ever felt like this, it is nothing but a trick of the enemy. The enemy wants to keep us from seeking God through prayer because he knows everything we need is in God.
Luke 18:1 (New King James Version) says that men should ALWAYS pray and not faint! 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV) instructs us to pray WITHOUT CEASING. Then Philippians 4:6 (NKJV) tells us to make our requests known to God, through PRAYER and supplication. God is too BIG to get tired when we go to Him in prayer-this is the same God that made every living creature, the same God that spoke into nothing and created this whole world!
One of my favorite scriptures, 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) specifically instructs us to PRAY, seek God’s face, and turn from our evil ways. God says if we do this He will forgive us and heal our land! You see, God delights in hearing and answering the prayers of His righteous children (Proverbs 15:8, NKJV). And it doesn’t matter how BIG or SMALL the issue may be; because to be quite honest everything is SMALL to God. There is nothing He can’t handle!
Psalms 91:11-12 (NKJV) explains that God has angels watching over us, to comfort us even if we bump our foot against a stone. You see, God cares about every little affliction we have, even if it’s something as minor as bumping our toe against something! So whatever your issue is on today I urge you to go to God in prayer about it. Go to Him over and over again! You will not bother Him-He likes persistence! He cares; and He has time to listen. And on top of that He will ANSWER your prayers according to His will.
Say this short prayer:
Lord, help me to not feel burdensome when I pray but to understand that you delight in the prayers of your righteous children. Help me to pray without ceasing and to never faint, trusting by faith that you will answer according to your will. And help me to rest assured that you long for your children to persistently seek you; and you most assuredly take pleasure in answering the prayers of the righteous. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen!
-To God be the Glory
