Work It Wednesday

Faith Plus Works: Work It Wednesday

If we TRULY believe or have faith in God we should be up DOING His good work! What we SAY we believe in means absolutely nothing if we don’t get up and put some action to it! The Bible even tells us that FAITH without WORKS is dead (James 2:17-18, New King James Version). Now there is much work in the Lord to be done. God has charged all of us with the work of visiting the fatherless and the widows (James 1:27, NKJV) and all throughout the Bible we are instructed to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and care for those who are afflicted.

Now Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) tells us that God is faithful and is indeed a REWARDER of those who diligently seek Him. If we really believe that, wouldn’t we be up DOING the work of God to obtain the reward we SAY we believe He will give us?! I must admit, I’ve been guilty before of doing a lot of TALKING and not enough WORKING. The misconception that I needed BIG FINANCES to do God’s work was one thing that really held me back! However, I just recently realized that everything isn’t about money-sometimes it’s about your TIME and SINCERE concern for others.

When I realized this, I began to regularly visit the elderly at some local nursing homes. I have a soft spot for the elderly; and I really enjoy just sitting and talking about the goodness of the Lord with them and hearing their life stories. Just me visiting them, letting them know that I care, blesses them and it blesses me in the process as well.

So I encourage you-find a group of people that you can help, whether it be by donating money to a good cause or volunteering your time. Whether it’s the elderly, the homeless, foster/underprivileged children, or battered women; find someone who may be poor in spirit and lift them up by showing them the LOVE OF GOD and your genuine concern! People: it’s time to stop talking about what we believe in and actually do it-Let’s WORK IT!

  1. Awe! So touched by this.
This is absolutely the answer I needed to see. I suddenly discovered my passion for writing. And that is writing to change the world and to make impacts. I want to touch lives but I am not capable of doing anything because I count myself as still poor. Then I started writing from Facebook till I got this blog. I’ve been using my phone and it’s been difficult without a laptop. But I won’t give up.
I’ll use my faith together with work like you’ve said.

I’m new here, can you please check my blog and correct me in one way or the other? I’ll be glad if this is granted.

    1. Wow, im so glad this message was what you needed! I’m actually a fairly new blogger myself, my blog is only a little over 2 months old! And yes I know all too well that feeling of wanting to DO something great but trying to work around certain limitations! It’s frustrating at times, but we’ve got to keep pushing! I will definitely give your blog a look and provide any feedback that I think would be helpful!… Thanks so much for viewing my blog and commenting ! God bless you!
