Today I have a simple question for you: Are you ashamed of God? I hope your answer is a big fat NO! I hope you can boldly stand before your friends and say that you LOVE God. I hope you can give God PRAISE and tell Him “thank you” anywhere you are, no matter who may be watching. And I hope you are not afraid to tell EVERYONE you know just how good God has been to you. Psalm 107:2 (New King James Version) tells us that the redeemed of the Lord should SAY so with their mouths!
However, if you are indeed ashamed of God today, I ask you to consider this. Jesus said if we are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of us too when He comes back to earth to gather His people. (Mark 8:38, NKJV) Now I’m sure ALL of us want to go back with Jesus, none us want to actually go to that AWFUL place called hell. But we surely CAN’T expect to enter into Heaven if we can’t even acknowledge God, love Him, and live according to His way while we’re here on earth.
Some of us are so quick to proudly show off our MATERIAL possessions; bragging about our new cars, clothes, and latest gadgets. However, we are too ashamed to lift up God, the one who has the power to give both material and ETERNAL things. Then some of us are even quicker to put our significant others up on HIGH pedestals, telling the world how “good” they look and how “good” they treat us; but we are too afraid to talk about how BEAUTIFUL God is and how GREAT He has been to us.
People I urge you to think about the day that you stand before God, giving an account for everything you did or DIDN’T do while here on earth. God is going to ask you why you never gave Him praise, why you never spoke boldly from your lips that He is your Lord and Savior. And if you’re works are not found PLEASING unto God, Jesus will REJECT you and say unto you that He never knew you (Matthew 7:23, NKJV). I imagine that can’t be a good feeling, hearing that you’ve failed to pleased God and your new home is hell, a place of ETERNAL darkness and misery.
So again I ask you, Are you ashamed of God?…..THINK ABOUT IT!
-To God be the Glory
