Work It Wednesday

Impress God: Work It Wednesday

Sometimes we work so hard to IMPRESS other people. Some of us put in EXTRA WORK to “keep up with the Joneses” by trying to drive the newest car, live in the biggest home on the block, wear the finest clothes, and so on and so forth. However, all of this is to impress other people who, at the end of  the day, are just PEOPLE. They’re HUMAN just as we are and our focus should be on impressing God, not man!

2 Timothy 2:15 (New King James Version) instructs us saying, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” You see, God is the only one who can judge us and place us in either Heaven or Hell. Therefore we should be working , putting in OVERTIME to impress Him so when we make it to the day of judgment we can hear Him say those sweet words, well done thy good and faithful servant. So let’s not worry about looking good for others. Let’s not worry about what others THINK about us. The only thing that matters is what God KNOWS about us!

Now let’s be clear, works alone will not get you into Heaven (Ephesians 2:8-9, NKJV). So be sure to have the INTENT OF YOUR HEART right as well, meaning you should also have a pure love for God and a HOLY fear towards Him. So let’s get busy! There’s much work in the Lord to be done. Whether it’s perfecting a gift, studying God’s Word and spending time with Him, witnessing to others, or simply spreading the love of God; there is always something to do!

So give it your best shot!  Impress God not man……Let’s WORK IT!

To God be the Glory
