Regret: Feel Free Friday

Regret can sometimes hold us back from moving forward in life. Whether it’s a break up that hurt us badly or a business plan that we tried and failed at, we regret that we even gave it a try and we get STUCK dwelling on what we WISH we had of done. We beat ourselves up; constantly going over the would haves, could haves, and should haves and it becomes very difficult or nearly impossible for us to FREELY move forward and TRY something NEW again.

I know this feeling all too well; I’m sort of feeling this way right now in fact. However, let me encourage you while I encourage myself. Romans 8:28 (New King James Version) assures us saying, “And we know that all things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” You hear that?…ALL things; the good, the bad, the ugly, the mistakes, the things we tried and failed at; ALL things!

Maybe it was a lesson you needed to learn. Maybe you needed something to stretch your faith or build your patience. Or perhaps you just needed to be put in a situation in which you were forced to finally understand that God is all you really need. Yeah you might’ve made some mistakes, might’ve gotten hurt, might’ve failed but because you are walking with God, He will take your biggest NEGATIVE and use it to help you grow-He will indeed work it for your GOOD!

So today I encourage you to simply learn your lesson and if you made a mistake ask God for forgiveness. However, after you have done all of that DON’T allow regret to hold you back from TRYING all the GOOD things you want to do. No regret, no hurt, no disappointment should ever keep you from walking freely in your freedom!

I say it all the time and I’m still saying it on today because it’s true. You are free my friends…So FEEL FREE!

-To God be the Glory

  1. Powerful message Adrianna! Regret is such a stifling force that we don’t even realize just how much it is holding us back from becoming who we ARE meant to be. Seek the lesson and take the wisdom from the experience and make a conscious decision to move forward. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
