Talk Less, Pray More: New Perspective

The Word of God tells us that the righteous man’s PRAYER will profit him a whole lot. Not the ranting, complaining, or rambling; but the PRAYER of a righteous man will benefit him greatly. How can we even expect God to fix our problems if we don’t go to Him in prayer about them? Sure, He sees and knows all; so He already knows our problems before we even bring them to Him. However; He wants to see us have enough FAITH to bring our problems to Him through prayer, believing that He can and will fix them! So stay off the phone, off of Facebook, and out of secret corners ranting and complaining about your problems. Simply get on your knees and PRAY!

Now there’s nothing wrong with confiding in another BELIEVER, especially a trusted elder in your church or community who may have experience dealing with the same issue you’re facing. However, we all know the difference between simply confiding in another for a little relief and godly advice versus flat out complaining! Even the Word tells us to CONFESS our issues to one another (other believers); but right after that it’s also written that we should PRAY. It’s human nature to want to rant when faced with a problem; I know because I do it too. However, simply talking about our problems will get us nowhere! So starting today, let’s talk less and pray more!

James 5:16 (New King James Version)

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

-To God be the Glory
