Mad at People: New Perspective

Just like us children of God have God’s Holy Spirit within us and His power working through us, our adversaries may have unclean spirits in them and the power of the enemy working through them. What children of God are able to do is NOT by their own power or might, but by the power of the Holy Spirit. Likewise what our adversaries are able to do is not by their own power or might, but by the power of satan. Now knowing this, why do we still get mad at people for the wrong they do toward us?! They lie on us, steal from us, and do all sorts of evil things toward us; but truth be told it’s not really them-it’s the power that works through them!

Scripture even tells us that we don’t fight against mere flesh and blood but against principalities and powers. So if we are fighting against principalities and powers, which are in the spiritual realm, we need some SPIRITUAL weapons to fight with. Spiritual weapons are things like prayer, fasting, and the Word of God. Then we can also put on God’s whole armor as a defense tool to block the blows of the enemy (Ephesians 6:13-18, New King James Version) . Let’s be clear about this: satan is the enemy, not people. Therefore, we can’t fight people back with our hands, mean words, or other forms of earthly retaliation and expect to win this battle. So today I encourage you to STOP GETTING MAD AT PEOPLE. Get mad at the devil and use your spiritual weapons to take him down!

Ephesians 6:12-13 (NKJV)

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
