God has allowed so many things in my life to work out just the way I wanted-He’s said YES to so many different things I’ve asked for. However, there have been a few things He didn’t allow to work out quite the way I wanted; in other words He said NO. Now of course I cried out to Him concerning these things-I continually prayed and pled with Him saying, “God please let this thing work out for me.” Yet in spite of all my effort, some things still didn’t pan out the way I wanted. Now I must admit, this often left me feeling hurt and confused-you know how it is when you really want something. If you’ve put your all into something and it still doesn’t work out it can be very frustrating. However, in retrospect I can see so much God was probably trying to protect me from when He said no and I’m THANKFUL to say the least!
You see, we often only want things because they LOOK or SEEM good at first glance or on a surface level. But God sees past the surface and knows exactly what’s hidden-He knows if a thing is truly good, and more specifically if it’s good for us or not. When God tells us no it may be that the very thing we wanted wasn’t as good as we thought it was. So whether it was a job that wouldn’t hire you or let you go, a relationship that failed, or a big plan that just didn’t come together; I want to encourage you that God is indeed faithful to His righteous children. He will NOT withhold anything GOOD from you. If God said no, it probably wasn’t good and it probably wasn’t for you. And just because it didn’t work out the way you wanted that doesn’t mean it didn’t work out in your favor! Scripture tells us that ALL things work together for our good-the ups, the downs, the yea’s, and the nay’s!
Romans 8:28 (New King James Version)
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
