Mistakes: Bits of Knowledge

In my 26 years of living I’ve made quite a few mistakes; mistakes in my relationships, career, and even in my walk with God. I’m not necessarily happy that I made any of them-some of my mistakes I’m quite ashamed of. Some I look back on and ask myself, “What was I thinking?” Then some of my past bad choices still cause me to suffer consequences today. However, I still can’t actually say I would go back and change or undo any of the bad choices I’ve made if I could. You see, some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned came after I made a huge mistake. Then some of my strongest moments in life manifested after I made a mistake and had to suffer painful consequences-I suffered but I didn’t give in; I kept standing!

See I’m just a firm believer that if we really love God He will indeed make ALL things work together for our good, not just our good choices but even our bad ones. God will take them and use them to teach us something, make us stronger, or better us in some way. Sometimes it takes mistakes, consequences, and suffering to PERFECT the things within us that aren’t right! So on today I encourage you to stop wasting your time dwelling on your past mistakes and wishing you could undo them. Simply ask God for forgiveness, keep on loving Him, try your hardest not to let those same mistakes happen again, and watch God make you better in a great way!

Romans 8:28 (New King James Version)

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

-To God be the Glory
