In my 26 years of living I’ve had some super good days; but I’ve also had some horribly bad ones. There were days I was so pumped and motivated that I felt as if I could do absolutely anything. Yet there have also been days I’ve felt so low and discouraged that I could barely get out of bed to do anything at all. Some days I’ve felt an overflowing amount of love and appreciation from others; but some days I’ve felt like almost nobody cared about me at all. I’ve felt happy, sad, stressed, relaxed, loved, unloved, energized, exhausted, distracted, focused…you name it, I’ve felt it! Now it just so happens that today is a pretty good day for me; glory be to God!
And while I didn’t necessarily enjoy going through any of those bad days or dealing with any of those negative emotions; I know I would’ve never made it to this good day if I hadn’t KEPT PRESSING through the bad ones. You see, a child of God is not exempt from dealing with negative emotions because we are indeed still human-we were made to feel things. However, we must understand that we can be frustrated, angry, stressed, or whatever the case may be but still not give up or be totally defeated. The Word of God tells us we can indeed be knocked down but not utterly destroyed, meaning we can experience the “lows of life” but still have VICTORY because we know our life or story is not over. The lows of life are NOT the end of our stories-they’re only parts of our stories.
The lows come with the highs; and there is absolutely no way for us to make it to the highs of life if we decide to sit down in defeat while experiencing the lows. So today I encourage you to KEEP MOVING, KEEP PRESSING! Even if you have to literally crawl out of bed in the morning, drag yourself throughout the day, or cry yourself to sleep at night-don’t you dare stop moving or sit down in defeat! Keep walking with and trusting in God! The story is only over when you give up! Your better days are coming but you’ll never see them if you throw in the towel now!
2 Corinthians 4:8-10 (New King James Version)
“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
