Have you ever begged for something you felt you truly needed or deserved and then even cried when you didn’t get it?!…I’ll be the first to admit I’ve done it before. However, today I want to remind you as I remind myself that a child of God has no need to beg anybody for anything; whether it’s love, attention, a job, food, or clothes, WHATEVER you need God has it. God wants the best for His children; and He does not intend on us begging another person to get it. The Word of God teaches us that the things we need, God himself will supply! Think about it this way, how would you feel if you caught your child begging another adult for food or clothes? I’m sure you wouldn’t like that and you’d expect your child to know you love them enough to provide for them the things they need. You’d want them to come directly to you for what they want or need. Well, it’s no different with God!
Now don’t get me wrong, God uses people all the time to bless us. You may be in need of a job and God may touch someone’s heart to hire you. Or you might desire a husband or wife and God may lead you to the exact person He intends for you to marry, someone who will be a tremendous blessing to your life. So yes, God uses people to bless us; but DON’T GET IT TWISTED! Our blessings ultimately come from the Lord; and He uses WILLING individuals to bless us. I don’t believe God ever wants us begging someone to bless us with jobs, to be our life partners, or to bless us in any other way. Whatever blessings we may need, God will use a willing person or find some other way to deliver the blessings to us.
If you don’t believe me, I encourage you to read Philippians Chapter 4 in it’s entirety and see how the Apostle Paul was in need of some things while ministering to several churches. Many churches neglected to give aid unto him-yet he still did not beg any of the churches he served; but He trusted in God and waited until the Philippian church was able and willing to bless him. So today I encourage you, don’t you dare beg for any good thing! God will supply your every need-in his own timing, and in his own way. Now there’s nothing wrong with asking; but if you ask and a person is not willing to give, don’t you dare beg or go to questioning your own worth. You deserve it-love, a good job, a trustworthy friend-you deserve it indeed! It may just be that God has a different person in mind to hand deliver your blessing to you, one who is indeed willing and fully equipped to get the job done!
