Waiting: One Day At A Time

Hey you over there! Yeah you-the one who’s sitting there waiting on a blessing. I know you may be getting a little impatient because you’ve been waiting a rather long time. Maybe you’ve already been waiting years for your blessing and you’re beginning to ask yourself, “Could I seriously wait another year or even a couple more years for my blessing to come?”…Trust me, I know the feeling! You’ve been waiting, praying, being obedient to God, and doing His good works for a while now; and still that blessing has yet to come. So you’re growing impatient to say the least and tempted to get up and DO IT YOURSELF or just quit being faithful to God altogether. However, today I want to encourage you as I encourage myself, don’t do it yourself and don’t go to making hasty decisions just to make something happen.

Keep waiting, keep obeying God, and stay of good cheer during your wait. I know the thought of waiting another couple of months, a year, or even a couple more years may overwhelm you because you can’t see how you could possibly keep waiting that long. But consider this-we only face ONE day at a time, we don’t face months or years all at once. Let me give you an example: if you need food TODAY and have no idea how you’ll buy your monthly groceries, all you really need is enough food to fill your stomach on today alone-not enough food for tomorrow, the next day, or the rest of the month. Then when tomorrow comes around, if God has yet to bless you with money to buy your monthly groceries, again all you need at that moment is enough food to fill you up on that day.

You see, we face issues one day at a time until they are resolved; and in ONE day all we need is enough strength to make it through that ONE day. Even if it takes yet another year for you to get blessed with a new job, a spouse, a healing in your body, or a deliverance from an addiction-all you need is a sufficient portion of God each day to help you through your wait. So seek God DAILY for your portion of patience, self control, or whatever it is you need to help you get through your waiting season. Keep waiting on God my friend-and don’t worry about how you will keep waiting on tomorrow, just call on God to help you keep waiting on today! For tomorrow your blessing could come!

Matthew 6:34 (New King James Version)

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

  1. Your words are so inspiring because they line up with the Word of God. “Be not weary in well-doing…, your “due season” is coming! That’s all we need to know. Remember the saying, “A watched bell never rings?” When people stop timing God and start trusting God, that “bell” will ring! HE honors faith not our schedules. Love ya!

  2. Let me also add this comment I don’t know who needs it

A burger at a fast place is quick to make, but stakes take a little longer to cook” maybe your meal is a steak, not a burger. Be patient, and wait on your meal.
