The Keys: Bits of Knowledge

A while back, this list of 9 key elements came to me as things we MUST have in order to live a successful/fulfilling life and one that is also pleasing in the sight of God. I call this list The Keys to Life; and I’m convinced that if we apply all 9 of these keys to our lives, there is absolutely NO WAY we can lose. Well here they go:

1). Faith: Without faith you cannot please God! You must first believe or have faith that He is real and that He also rewards those who do His will. (Hebrews 11:6, NKJV)

2). God: You absolutely need to have a close relationship with God, one where you commune with Him daily and look to Him for strength and direction. No matter how much knowledge, power, or money you may have at some point you will RUN OUT if you are not leaning on God as your source and guide. And there is no way God can strengthen or direct you if you don’t communicate with Him and have a close relationship with Him. (Psalms 32:8 & Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV)

3). A Willing/Obedient Heart: We must first be willing or want to do the work of God before anything else can happen. We must also obey God’s word. The Word tells us we can show God we love Him by simply obeying His commandments. (Isaiah 1:19-20 & John 14:21 NKJV)

4). Works: We must do the work of God to show Him that we truly have faith in Him. The Word tells us faith without works is no good. (James 2:17, NKJV)

5). The Holy Spirit: Without God’s Spirit living inside of us we are not His children and are none of His. His Spirit fills us and marks us as His children which gives us the right to ETERNAL GLORY with Him. Without His Spirit there is no way we can enter into heaven or partake in His eternal glory. (Romans 8:9 & Romans 8:15-17, NKJV)

6). Knowledge: You must first KNOW something in order to do something. Knowledge is power. And if we want to be wise, we must first seek knowledge. (Proverbs 18:15, NKJV)

7). Wisdom: This is the same as good EXPERIENCE and comes as we APPLY the knowledge we have. It’s not enough to know something-we have to apply or work our knowledge in order for it to produce any type of fruit for us. (Proverbs 8:11, NKJV)

8). Understanding: This is like a certain “expertise” that comes after one has gained much experience or by a divine touch from God. With proper understanding, one can more easily handle problems any way they may present themselves. The Word tells us that kings reign and judges serve justice well by using understanding. Kings, judges, presidents, supervisors, and those in any type of positive of authority may be faced with difficult issues day to day. However, it is proper understanding that can help them to make the right calls. (Proverbs 8:14-15, NKJV)

9). Love: God is love; so if you don’t have love you don’t have God. You can diligently do the work of God all your life, even give your body to be burned for another. However, if you don’t have love in your heart you will not enter into Heaven. (I Corinthians 13:1-3, NKJV)

If not, I dare you to start doing so and see what great things might happen! I’ve given you the keys-Now let’s OPEN UP some doors!

-To God be the Glory
